Our client is a high profile, privately held, venture funded company on the vanguard of alternative, clean (green) energy systems. Their leadership team melds experience from the fast paced high-tech world and the technologically intense coal, coal gasification and gas-to-liquids industries.

They convert biomass into fuel-grade ethanol using emerging clean energy technologies. Biomass includes all plant and plant-derived material, such as wood, switch grass, corn stover, etc. – making it a renewable energy resource that produces no net greenhouse gases.

The company can produce more ethanol for a given amount of energy expended than is possible with any other competing process. This key difference is a result of their ability to convert all – not just some – of the biomass used, along with their modular facilities, which bring the conversion process right to the biomass source.

Position Profile

We seek a senior level engineering professional to manage key areas of the project, including interfacing with A/E’s, EPC’s and other contractors, across all disciplines, for the build-out of the first commercial scale plant (in Soperton, GA).

Role will include responsibility for the design, selection, etc for various fixed equipment and packaged systems (skid systems, rotating equipment, etc).

Work with contractor engineers to create system packages for vendor supply, manage system integration with process needs, and commission/startup/troubleshoot systems. Will work closely with contractors to integrate core technology with balance of plant engineering and team with other disciplines on projects to ensure this first of a kind commercial unit is completed on time and on budget.
